This teapot print had a coordinating allover background print which worked well for the tips.

 

  Not into novelty prints? A floral will also work for this design. For best results, look for one with flowers in a variety of shapes, colors,and/or sizes.
 

Striped border fabrics like this will also work. While they require a bit more care in cutting and piecing, the resulting blocks are striking.

 

Tip: If you have two extra repeats (i.e., 8 design repeats), you can cut the diamond tips from the same print and eliminate Fabric B. This is especially effective for symmetrical fabrics, as shown here.
